ACTUAL RECOMMENDATIONS, ANONYMISED

This is what we actually tell customers.

These are paraphrased from real emails and proposals sent by SunDrop, with identifying information and commercial pricing removed. They are examples of decisions—not claims that every listed system was installed.

01 / ECOSYSTEM

The EV-ready household

13.3 kW PV · 24.96 kWh nominal storage · 7 kW charger

One proposal brought together 28 Trina 475 W panels, a GoodWe roughly 10 kW hybrid inverter, three battery modules and full-house backup scope. The rationale was future electrification, not solar-only payback.

02 / EV CHARGING

Six point six kilowatts and an electric car

Single phase · EV up to 7 kW AC in the proposal

A homeowner wanted to run the house and charge an EV on a 6.6 kW array. We explained staggered loads, slower charging and unavoidable grid imports when demand exceeds production.

03 / BATTERIES

The staged battery upgrade

Existing 6.65 kW solar · Sungrow hybrid

The existing solar and hybrid inverter could be retained. Options included battery storage alone or additional panels with larger storage capacity. Existing compatibility changed the economics.

04 / BATTERIES

The modest nightly use, future flexibility

About 4 kWh nightly demand in the customer analysis

We considered storage headroom for future use, VPP reservations and degradation rather than sizing only to last night’s demand. The same proposed inverter could manage old and new solar strings with verified limits.

05 / EQUIPMENT

Why the brand price gap exists

Same panels, similar storage · GoodWe vs Sigenergy

Comparisons kept the panel array similar and changed the inverter and battery brand. GoodWe was positioned on proven value, with Sigenergy positioned for architecture and integrated features.

06 / SOLAR

A smarter east/north/west roof layout

10 east · 6 north · 6 west

Rather than chasing only north-facing panel count, the design used three roof directions to spread generation across the day. Very short strings on a separate roof may need a design adjustment.

07 / RETROFIT

Why replacing old equipment can make sense

Existing optimiser-based SolarEdge array

Removing optimisers and relocating strings added labour. In that particular case, a new solar array was quoted only a little higher than retrofitting the old one, due to incentives at the time.

08 / BACKUP

Backup versus battery capacity

Essential circuits vs full-house supply

We explain which circuits are backed up, continuous output and high-load restrictions. Bigger kWh alone does not mean unrestricted blackout operation.
