04 / CONNECTED ENERGY ECOSYSTEM

One connected plan. Not three separate purchases.

Solar is generation. A battery is stored energy. An EV charger is a significant new load. Designing them together can avoid awkward compromises, incompatible controls and unnecessary equipment changes.

PRIORITY

⌂ Household

Run today’s loads, including large air-conditioning demand.

STORE

▣ Battery

Fill available storage from excess solar, subject to controls and limits.

CHARGE

↯ Electric car

Schedule or dynamically adjust to available solar and charging needs.

⇄ GridImport covers shortfalls; approved export may deal with surplus. The actual energy hierarchy is configured to suit your priorities.

STARTING POINT · NOT A QUOTE

A balanced solar + battery design

We'll recommend a solar and inverter design that supports household demand and battery recharge without assuming a one-size-fits-all system.

WHAT WE WILL INVESTIGATE
  • Daily and seasonal consumption
  • Solar and inverter headroom
  • Usable battery capacity

CASE PATTERN / FULL INTEGRATION

A 13.3 kW solar, 24 kWh battery and EV charger proposal.

One Perth homeowner planning for more electrification received a proposal combining 28 × 475 W panels, a roughly 10 kW GoodWe hybrid inverter, three modular battery units and a 7 kW EV charger.

The decision wasn't simply to maximise hardware: enough daytime generation for household use and battery charging, sufficient inverter output for competing loads, and a charger integrated into future plans.

DECISIONS WE EXPLAIN

The 5 details that can make or break the ecosystem.

These often appear in our real customer conversations.

01

Solar array versus inverter rating

More panels help extend production and battery charging, but they do not magically raise the inverter’s maximum AC output.

02

Night-time demand

Aircon, hot water and cooking can change the useful battery capacity much more than household size alone.

03

EV charger minimum current

Even solar-aware chargers need enough surplus to begin or maintain charging. The network export setting and CT measurements matter.

04

Backup power and changeover

A battery’s nameplate capacity is not proof of full-house backup. We specify circuits, gateway, output and protections separately.

05

Compatibility and support

One coordinated inverter, battery and charging platform can simplify monitoring. Mixed-brand systems can also work when properly designed and supported.
